1992 – SDSIC forerunner “INNOVATE! Technology Forum” Founded

Modeled roughly after the Software Entrepreneurs' Forum in Silicon Valley, the INNOVATE! Technology Forum held its first meeting at the Doubletree Hotel in Del Mar Heights in September 1992.  It met in monthly roundtables in the area. The meetings were funded entirely by small contributions made at the door, and supported by companies such as QUALCOMM.

In 1994, several INNOVATE! regulars including Arnie Karush (then of ChipSoft) and others teamed up with a group of people from a number of larger San Diego Software companies to start the San Diego Software Industry Council. INNOVATE!, was absorbed by SDSIC.
